If you use your iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch at night time, youll be all too familiar with the problem of eye fatigue caused by the bright back light. Worse, if you happen to be outside, youll find your night vision gets blown away every time you glance at the screen, which makes it very hard to use.

This app solves the problem by using a technique that has long been used on submarines, research labs and photo processing stores: red lights. Red light sensitivity, known as the "Purkinje effect" or more simply dark adaptation means that your eyes can look at red-shifted images without losing their ability to see in the dark.

Using this app youll be able to browse the web or use your devices built-in maps without losing your night vision, because it automatically colors your screen red. You can choose how bright or dark the image should be, and you can also choose a different colour entirely - a handy extra if you fancy recreating the green-screen world of old technology!

Features:

- Surf the web at night without losing your night vision or suffering eye strain.

- Browse your devices world map while youre out walking in the evening.

- Lowered frame rate automatically smooths out screen distractions.

- Customise the brightness to suit your taste.

- Works on your iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

Bad app
iPhone has a way better program. Just takes multiple pages. This good be great if it would turn screen red for everything
Bogs down with PDF files
Bogs down with PDF files. There are bugs if you have more than one web page loaded in app. Look for another app!
Great App 4 night use
Ive been looking for an app like this! Only wish it would work as an overlay with EVERYTHING I have on my iPad. There is nothing worse than turning on the iPad in the middle of the night & being blinded by the intense white light. Health wise - a white light disrupts the Circadian rhythm of the body which leads to all sorts of health issues. This app is a great start and I hope the developer will build on it & expand its application.
Poor contrast
What I was hoping for was a low-light, easy to read browser. What you get is a poor contrast red/black browser surrounded by device-set brightness menu bar and option buttons. These top and bottom areas are always bright enough to ruin the contrast when reading the browser. Boo-urns. So long, dollar.
Perfect if only...
...the keyboard were reddish too (and not bright)! Take skysafari as a good example of it!
